While doctors prescribe specific medicines for different ailments, and therapists approach the tender spots of the mind with their particular finesse, what is often overlooked is each person’s unique journey in reaching a spot of desired health and healing. Healing is a matter of both mind and body, and with the mind comes the individuality of the human experience. Approaching every mind the same is a recipe for healing failure, and the particular intricacies of each person’s healing journey should be acknowledged for optimum results. In addition, each person must recognize their own healing journey internally and the singular way in which they approach the challenges of their situation. What works for one or some may not work for another or all, and this is not to be viewed as a weakness or something negative.
The key to a personal journey of healing lies in addressing each issue with the solutions that work best for them. Ignoring the differences is a recipe for disaster. Not all puzzle pieces fit together in the same way, and it is not a matter of greater or lesser. Additionally, that individual must themselves understand and appreciate that they are on their own path to wellness, and that path is specific and ideal for them.
